​Donation Process.
Blood donation process is consistent whether blood donors came to donate blood at the Blood Donation Centre in any hospital district or in a mobile blood donation campaign held. In summary, there are 6 steps in the process of blood donation form filling, registration, test the levels of hemoglobin in the blood, the doctor, the distribution of blood bags, blood donation and rest (including meals or refreshment).
​Step 1 - Registration
Every time donors come to do blood donation they are required to fill up the form as it is required to complete the Form of Health Screening donors where donors will answer questions that relate to health, sexual behavior, history of travel, whether to take any medications, and so on. On the front page of the form there is also a bit of info about infectious diseases. Donors must read and understand the information provided. If donors do not understand any questions or information, the donor may be asked to existing staff. this Step of medical examination form is important to us.
​Step 3 - Medical examination
The next step is a medical examination. Blood pressure and pulse donors will be checked by a doctor. The doctor will also examine the medical examination form asking donors and donor blood a few questions such as taking medication, menstruation for women donors, enough sleep, and so on. Blood donors are only allowed to donate blood if doctors validate the health of the donor.
​Step 5 - Blood Donation
Donors will be directed to sit in the place reserved for the donation and donation process will be initiated. Injection in the arm area will be cleaned using liquids containing alcohol to kill germs on the skin and the needle is inserted in the arm after the liquid to dry completely.
​Step 2 - Hemoglobin test
After completing the form, the donor will be tested their hemoglobin levels. Hemoglobin level, whether male or female, should not be less than 12.5 g / dL. If less than the allowable level, donors will be given iron supplements and allowed to come to donate blood a month later.
​Step 4 - Blood Bag
After the medical examination, blood donors will be given a set of bags and blood donation unit numbers then proceed to the bleeding room.
​Step 6 - Rest and Refreshment
Once the bag is full, the needle will be removed and wrapped the injection site. Blood donors are required to rest for at least 5 minutes. Donors will be given some refreshment.
